About
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
On May 1, 1988, Andrew Rocco was
born to his parents Bob and Cheri. He
would be raised in and still currently
resides in a quiet suburb of North
Kingstown. 2 younger brothers would
soon join the family, Chris (17) and
Robby (14). Today, Andrew works
part-time for Sears Holdings as  Loss
Prevention Agent and attends school at
CCRI Knight Campus in Warwick as
well.

Though Andrew has only been avidly
shooting for the past 3 years, he has
always had a powerful desire to do it,
even since he was very young."I was
always the one nagging for the camera, be
it still or video as a kid. I was always
there when Grandma cracked open the
old albums, and looked through them
hundreds of times. I loved sharing
memories. And that's when I realized that
was just it. I. LOVE. MEMORIES. I love
capturing them, sharing them, and
freezing that little piece of time
EXACTLY the way it was, to never be
forgotten and then being able to share it
with the world. To put the viewer,
RIGHT THERE."

Andrew's passion for photography was
highly influenced by his high-school
teacher and homeroom advisor Mr.
Chuck King. Having taken a digital
photography course  under his teachings,
he found that not only had he found
something he was good at, but had
always enjoyed. After having one of his
pieces "Baseball Reverie" selected to be
entered in a national contest, he knew he
had found a calling.

"I remember holding that Digital Rebel
XT for the first time, taking it home,
shooting with it. It was love, but it was
expensive love, haha. My first camera
was a Kodak Z740, and then on
Christmas '07, I got to call a Rebel XTi
my very own."

Since then, Andrew has pursued his life
passion in the art of photography. Among
some of his strongest influences are Franz
Lanting, Galen Rowell, and of course...
Ansel Adams. "I was lucky enough to
have my face INCHES from some of his
work that came through the Boston
Museum of Fine Arts. Incredible.
Absolutely incredible. He's a
photographic genius."

Today, Andrew shoots mainly in artistic
expression, attempting to convey
emotions, feelings, and presence through
his photographs. Occasionally he will
work freelance for the Little League and
the Troop and have some shots in the
local paper, but his dream is open a
studio of his own someday or pursue a
career in photojournalism and travel the
world.

"Photography has been a necessary and
highly influential part of my life. Having
gone through states of depression
through high school and brief periods
thereafter, it has always gave me that
little boost to wake up early the next day
and greet the sun as bursts over the
horizon, you know? That drive to just get
out there, see the world, experience the
world, and then come back and literally
show and tell everyone about it. That
famous quote "If only you had been
there." Well, that's what I want to do, I
want to bring you there. So come on,
let's go."

"Aim high. Be true. And be proud."
